I love Charlie's and I'm pretty sure the rest of Anchorage does too. It doesn't matter what time of day I visit, they are crazy busy. It always smells incredibly welcoming. The food is tasty, whether it's desserts, lunch Asian pastries or hot meals. You can't go wrong.

SIOPAO OMG good. Food has been found to be delicious. Desserts are absolutely perfect. Everything is five star with a very well presented price. Atmosphere is well very well lit with a great hosting staff.

Everything here is SO GOOD. I was meeting a friend for lunch here and while waiting ended up ordering a ham and cheese roll because I couldn't wait to eat lol. It was tasty and light and is probably even better fresh out of the oven. For my meal I had the soy sauce marinated pork chops, which was hearty and filling. The meat was tender with a slight crisp, and the rice steaming hot. I absolutely inhaled the whole plate. Charlie's is also known around town for their desserts. On a second trip a week later my fiancé and I had a Boston Cream Pie and Irish cream cheesecake. They were light and the perfect amount of sweetness. They had a lot of business on a Saturday afternoon with people dining in and picking up orders to go. Sometimes it gets busy and all tables are full, but the food is worth the wait. You won't be disappointed here!

Charlie's Bakery is a Chinese restaurant and bakery, with a lot of traditional menu items and baked goods. They have plenty of seating. I almost jokingly describe how they are one of the cleanest Chinese bakeries I've ever seen, ok, I'm only half joking. My wife and I were in town for a trip and found this place through online searching. We went during lunchtime and it seemed to be pretty full which was a good sign. I ordered their braised beef noodle soup (spicy), and I ordered their spicy wontons. My wife had a seafood noodle soup. The food came out in a timely manner, they brought the order to our table. The noodles were standard egg noodles but the braised beef and the broth was really good. I'd go there again.

Charlie's Bakery continues to satisfy. Went in at 8pm, they mentioned they'd be closing at 8:30, we ordered and food was out starting in 5 minutes. Mongolian beef, sesame chicken, both sub chicken fried rice for a small up charge (worth it), har gow, pork siu mai, and pork Szechwan spicy wontons. Fast, friendly, delicious. Order at the counter, pictures of food are on the wall. Soda, water, soy sauce, & chili sauces are self-serve. Chopsticks are crap, I will bring my own next time . Still 10/10

I used to frequent this place so much in high school when I worked at the KFC, that was located at the other end of the strip mall. We visited most recently, to pickup dinner on a Saturday evening. We made it in before their dinner rush, thankfully. Food, flavor, quality, and portions here, remain the same. Our food came out fast, fresh, and hot. My only complaint is that my "house fried rice," was really only "shrimp fried rice" which of course, isn't the same. We appreciated Charlie's' sauce section (chili and sriracha especially). This visit, I noticed canned soda and Hawaiian sun juices were available, in addition to their fountain soda options. Not sure if they've always had these available, but we appreciated it this time around for sure.

Love the food here. I've only been twice but everything Was amazing. The service is great. You get a buzzer and when it's ready you either pick Up to go, or to eat there if you can find a table. Our food came Up faster then what we thought We got home and we enjoyed everything we got.

Been craving Dim Sum and was told this is the only spot in town. Menu is very limited and prices were steep for what we're accustomed to. But as I just mentioned, only spot in town. We had multiple places we were eating at so we didn't order too much. The bean curds were good but at almost $12, I'm not sure. The Har Gow were big and juicy. The spicy wontons were our favorite.

Although we'd researched this spot for breakfast/brunch bakery, we first came for dinner, noted that the bakery was almost totally sold out, and made a mental note that if we wanted to try their baked goods, we'd have to come again and arrive early! For dinner we enjoyed Egg Rolls, Shrimp Won Ton Soup with Noodles, and the Braised Beef Noodle Soup, all of which were delicious--some of the most delicate won tons I've ever had! When we came back another day for brunch, we sampled a few buns: Sausage, Egg, & Cheese; BBQ Pork; and Red Bean. The BBQ Pork was my favorite of the two savory buns--savory and lightly sweet--and you can never go wrong with red bean buns! Would definitely return if we're ever back in Anchorage, and if I was a local I'd be a regular for sure!
